GLASS JAR CARRIER

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many people struggled with glass jars breaking during grocery transportation, leading to inconvenience, waste, and safety concerns. To address this issue, I designed a glass jar carrier that is secure, easy to carry, and multifunctional for both in-store shopping and home storage. The goal was to create a practical solution that reduces breakage while enhancing convenience for users.

To develop this design, I conducted user research by interviewing and surveying grocery store shoppers to understand their challenges. I studied glass jar dimensions, researched existing carrying solutions, and explored various design configurations for holding 2 to 4 jars. After multiple iterations, I selected a 2-jar design and built a cardboard prototype to test stability, ease of handling, and structural integrity.

The final glass jar carrier securely holds two jars, offering a safe, stable, and ergonomic solution for transporting fragile items. Designed for versatility, it functions as both a grocery transport aid and a home storage tool, making shopping safer and more efficient while reducing the risk of breakage.
