UGLY CSA POSTER DESIGN
412 Food Rescue, a nonprofit organization, aims to reduce food waste by creating new markets for previously unsellable produce, benefiting both local farmers and communities in need. As part of their UglyCSA campaign, the goal was to reframe perceptions of imperfect produce and highlight its value in the food system through engaging visuals.
To support this initiative, I designed campaign posters that emphasized imperfect foods as heroes, using bold illustrations and vibrant storytelling to shift consumer attitudes. I focused on creating visually compelling designs that celebrated the uniqueness of each item, reinforcing the message that cosmetic flaws do not impact quality or nutrition.
The posters helped raise awareness and engagement for the UglyCSA program, encouraging more people to support sustainable food practices and purchase imperfect produce. By leveraging design as a storytelling tool, this campaign contributed to a broader movement advocating for food equity and waste reduction.
